Coded Impressions + More Updates
Arika from The Light in Chaos blog has updated with play impressions of the first episode of Kingdom Hearts Coded that began distributing June 3 2009. Thanks to my partner gold_panner for translating the candid impression! Please do not repost without crediting to Heartstation.
And so, first is the world you wake up in. You start together with the King, who has become a voice from the heavens.
Like KH, it’s necessary to choose one to keep and one to give away from the blade, shield and staff, however, this time, different to usual (or rather, not knowing how the staff affects things), I tried choosing the blade and giving away the staff. Of course
But here, a black-coated person who wouldn’t normally be expected to appear makes an entrance. Here, the road silently opened. After that, the blade I’d chosen turned into a keyblade, battle with shadowsàsave point appears, that’s the way it flows. You can also select a world at the save point.
Also, not really important, but I thought they were neat, Yuuna from Howling Moon Diary took some photos of a electronic Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days advertisement that shifted between four different panels in a Shinkansen stopping area. I also added some photos taken of the display at E3, thanks to ffring.com.
It seems some high quality content for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days have been leaked off the Nintendo Press Release site, including high quality renders of Axel, Roxas, and Xion. Another interesting leak pertaining to Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, some people have hacked into the game to reveal some character sprites that were not used in the game. Had Pinocchio’s world really been in the works? Thanks to everyone who emailed me about these two bits of info, I’ve been a little busy lately.
I also wanted to add that my team and I are in the works of subtitling and translating all the important content from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, so please keep an eye out for that. Also, thanks to a request from a visitor, I made a tutorial on how to use the panel system if you’re interested.

P.S: When will you finish translating the novels?
Is it possible that Pinocchio’s World and/or Traverse Town are extra, unlockable features no one’s found yet? The game’s only been out for, like, a week. I dunno, it just seems like it would take longer than that to figure out how to unlock extra stuff, if there is any.

has anyone else noticed Pinocchio is a real boy in that sprite?
Pinocchio became a real boy at the end of KH1, so it’s no surprise.
Makes me wonder how Nintendo Power knew that/why they said it, though.

Not in the Japanese version. Nintendo Power says Pinocchio’s World and Traverse Town are both on the roster of worlds, but I haven’t seen either and I beat the game yesterday.
